Using this geographic reference
GeoExplore Hub publishes educational explanations of landforms, environmental change and map-reading methods. Access is free to readers and may be supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. “Educational” describes the purpose of the content; it does not mean the website has no advertising or revenue.
These terms apply when you use our pages and tools. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. Any rights you have under mandatory consumer or other applicable law remain in force.
Quoting, teaching and reusing material
You may read our articles, link to them, and print or share reasonable excerpts of our original text for personal study or classroom teaching, with credit to GeoExplore Hub and a link to the original page. Do not imply that we endorse a derivative resource.
Republishing complete articles, redistributing our original illustrations, adapting substantial portions, or including them in a commercial product requires written permission unless a specific asset states a different license or applicable law permits the use. Our name, logo and site design are not licensed for reuse by these terms. Copyright remains with the relevant owner.
Map tiles, source data, photographs and other third-party material retain their own licenses and attribution requirements. In particular, OpenStreetMap data and map-tile services have separate license and usage conditions. A citation to a source does not transfer rights in it.
What maps and calculators can support
Study markers, transects and diagrams are teaching annotations unless explicitly identified as official survey products. A basemap may be current while an article discusses an earlier event. Map scale, projection, resolution and observation date affect what can be concluded.
Distance tools produce estimates under the displayed assumptions. Great-circle distance is not a driving route, and a map-scale conversion is only as reliable as the input measurement. Verify results before using them for any consequential decision.
Education, not operational advice
Articles and tools are not navigation charts, boundary surveys, engineering designs, emergency alerts, medical advice or professional environmental assessments. They do not establish whether a property, route or activity is safe. Use the responsible public authority’s current hazard notices and obtain qualified advice for site-specific decisions.
Advertising and external services
AdSense and other advertising services may place advertisements alongside our content. An advertisement is not an editorial recommendation, and advertisers do not become a source for a geographic claim merely by appearing on the page. Any dealings with an advertiser are subject to that provider’s terms.
Map tiles, linked datasets and externally hosted software can change, become unavailable or be governed by separate conditions. We do not control those services. For cookies, advertising preferences and personal-data processing, read our Privacy Policy rather than treating these terms as consent to tracking.
Responsible use and correspondence
Do not disrupt the website, introduce malicious code, bypass access restrictions, misuse another person’s information or remove required source attribution. Contact messages should identify the relevant page and avoid unnecessary sensitive personal information.
When you send a correction, you allow us to use the substance of that correction to improve the article. Sending a message does not transfer ownership of your original work or authorize publication of your name or private contact details.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to make explanations traceable and useful, but sources can be revised and errors can occur. Content is supplied as available, without a promise of uninterrupted access, complete coverage or suitability for a particular purpose. We may correct, consolidate or remove pages.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, GeoExplore Hub is not responsible for indirect losses caused by relying on educational material or by third-party service interruptions. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The effective date above identifies this version. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use after they take effect is subject to the updated terms.
